Up for sale is a 1998 Honda VTR1000F Superhawk 996 (Known as the firestorm in Europe) with a clean and clear title and 42k miles. The bike has had all of the items addressed that are the only known weak points on these bikes including the regulator rectifier upgraded to a newer MOSFET style, heavier gauge wiring with upgraded ground which eliminates the charging system issues that plagued them back in the day, upgraded stator, upgraded MANUAL APE cam chain tensioners on front and rear cylinder, and it has a had the usual performance upgrades of dual slip on high mount exhaust that sounds great as well as a K&N air filter and air injection delete. It has also been lowered 1" front and rear with an adjustable kickstand added to suit. The bike is in good shape cosmetically aside from the cracked left fairing which was from the previous owner transporting it on an open trailer and it fell over when taking the straps off. No major scratches or rash, strictly the piece of cracked fairing on the front of the bike. The rims and engine covers were polished which could use cleaning up as they have to be buffed and waxed occasionally being polished aluminum to really shine. The bike had just had a new battery, chain, carb rebuild, new OEM petcock, and new iridium spark plugs when traded in. It does need fork seals and the tires have plenty of tread but are now over 10 years old. This bike runs and rides with no issues and it can be test driven before taking it home. It has been priced to sell and is being sold as is due to the age and mileage, although these bikes are well known to go 100k miles on stock motors as long as the tensioners have been upgraded which these have.
