2009 Ducati Monster M1100

Being offered for sale is a 2009 Ducati Monster 1100 with 17k miles and a clean and clear title. The bike has just had an extensive full service at our dealership including new color matched EK drive chain, new timing belts, and full fluids. It had new tires installed by the previous owner just before being put into long term storage. The bike is cosmetically in very good condition with only a minor nick on the left side tank cover. The Monster 1100 with the venerable air / oil cooled 2V DS1100 motor was considered by many Ducatisti to be the last and greatest iteration of the original Monster as this was the last model before they shifted the platform over to the testastretta motor with 4V and liquid cooling as well as a much more techologically advanced (and complex) electronics package. These bikes by comparison to their more "refined" successors offer not only a more visceral and elemental riding experience that is closer to the feel of many of the original Ducati supersports and early Monsters that were fully analog. This final edition of the original air cooled Monster platform also proved to be much more reliable and economical to maintain as the years have passed having a much easier to perform Desmo service than its Testastretta laden decendents which came with no only more valves but more complicated electronics many of which have proven to be prone to failure as they have aged as well as more extenisve emissions equipment which also adds weight and complication to a bike which was designed to be as minimalist as possible. The original Monster embodied everything a sport motorcycle represented seamlessly becoming one with the rider and literally disappearing under you when the going got curvy and this final generation of air cooled Monster is the last of a truly analog generation employing only the most useful and basic of modern amenities such as fuel injection and a digital dash.
